•The 251 East 12th Avenue addition received LEED certification in July 2005. At the time, this was the first and only state-owned building to receive this designation. In the beginning we recycled 1,374 tons of concrete from the old parking structure. From the earliest concept phase CDLE was committed to creating a work environment that would be healthy for the earth and the people who worked in the building. "Green Buildings" are very energy efficient and utilize construction materials wisely-including recycled, renewable, and reused resources to the maximum extent practical.
