COMMUNITY RESOURCE AND CAREER FAIR COMES TO
SILVERTHORNE ON WEDNESDAY

Representatives from businesses and a variety of resource organizations  will be on hand
to help job seekers learn about career opportunities and much more

(FRISCO) – A resource and career fair designed to provide job opportunities and career advice will be provided on Wednesday, November 18, from 12 Noon to 4 PM at the Silverthorne Town Pavilion, 400 Blue river Parkway (one block east of the Silverthorne Summit Stage Transfer Center), in Silverthorne.  The event is sponsored by the Frisco Workforce Center and a consortium of community partners.

Rosemary Pettus of the Frisco Workforce Center says the event will offer job opportunities from a variety of employers.  “The Community Resource and Career Fair offers a good mix of employment opportunities.  But in tough economic times, we need to provide more than that.  If you’re interested in exploring jobs that are available right now and positioning yourself for the future, here’s your chance.”

Four different workshops are scheduled throughout the day, presented by College in Colorado, Summit Cares, Intuitive Balance Living and High Country Conservation Center:

Workforce Center staff will offer an evaluation and assessment of your résumé and cover letter; they provide tips for a stellar job interview and will show job seekers how to do a self-directed job search at www.connectingcolorado.org, the Workforce Center database with over 11,000 job postings.

Attorneys will be available throughout the day for free consultation on such civil law topics as housing, family and debt.  Educational institutions will have representatives available to talk with individuals about their career goals and how to reach them.

This special event is just one avenue designed to move Colorado forward, Pettus says.  “Our economy remains stronger than in most other states and our commitment, our goals and our strategies for helping people get back to work remain as ambitious as ever.  Individuals wanting to take advantage of the many opportunities that are out there should get in touch with us.”
