CareerReady Colorado Certificate
Career Seekers
Career seekers can use the CareerReady Colorado Certificate to show employers that they have the
basic skills required for employment or promotion. Even if someone has
a high school diploma, GED, or a post-secondary degree, the certificate further
verifies that the individual can handle the kinds of tasks - finding
information, reading instructions and directions, and working with
figures - that are common in today's workplace.
Job Seekers can earn a certificate when they pass three WorkKeys
assessments: Reading for Information, Locating Information and Applied
Mathematics. When the assessments are successfully completed, the
workforce region awards a certificate that has been signed by the
Governor.
The assessments are developed by ACT, the national testing company
best known for the ACT college admissions test. Each takes about one
hour to complete – three hours total. If more training is needed
to get a certificate, job seekers can use free, online training programs
(such as KeyTrain) at participating workforce centers.
