CareerReady Colorado Certificate

Businesses need new hires who can achieve job proficiency quickly in order to meet the demands of an increasingly competitive global economy. CareerReady Colorado is a complete solution for making comparisons between an individual's skill levels and the skill levels required by specific jobs. Businesses across the nation are using this type of certification for hiring new employees and assessing workers. The assessments are developed by ACT, the national testing company best known for the ACT college admissions test. Each assessment takes about one hour to complete – three hours total.  The assessments are proctored so results can be trusted.

Getting Started...

  • Link to any workforce region in Colorado
  • Find an administrator in the nearest workforce region
  • Remember the 3 Rs of CareerReady Colorado participation: Request, Recommend or Require:
    • Request: Ask job applicants, “Do you have a CareerReady Colorado Certificate?”
    • Recommend:  When you post positions, state that having a CareerReady Colorado Certificate is “recommended” or that certificate-holders are “preferred.” Provide information on where candidates can test. 
    • Require: If a specific job has been profiled by your business, require that applicants have a CareerReady Colorado Certificate in order to be considered for the position. If a job is profiled, you can also use the certificate to evaluate employees for promotion.
