CareerReady Colorado Certificate
Certificate Levels
The CareerReady Colorado certificate is available in three levels:
Bronze, Silver and Gold. To earn a certificate, a job seeker must pass WorkKeys assessments in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and
Reading for Information.
WorkKeys is a nationally-recognized skills assessment tool developed
by ACT Inc., the college testing company. (Other tools will be explored
for use as possible additions to the Colorado work readiness
certification process as needed in the future).
Individuals who are not ready to pass WorkKeys assessments may take
free, online training to improve their skills. KeyTrain is an
ACT-approved training program designed to prepare individuals to pass
the WorkKeys assessments. KeyTrain is available in most Colorado
workforce centers, and job seekers may use it at no cost to help them
reach certification goals.
Bronze - The Bronze level certificate holder has scored at
least a Level 3 in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and
Reading for Information. The Bronze level verifies that the job
seeker has the necessary foundation skills for 35% of the jobs in
the WorkKeys database.

Silver - The Silver level certificate holder has scored at
least a Level 4 in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and
Reading for Information. The Silver level verifies that the job
seeker has the necessary foundation skills for 65% of the jobs in
the WorkKeys database.

Gold -The Gold level certificate holder has scored at
least a Level 5 in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and
Reading for Information. The Gold level verifies that the job
seeker has the necessary foundational skills for 90% of the jobs in
the WorkKeys database.
