Government employment recorded its greatest increase since 1992 with an additional 7,641 jobs. On an annual average basis, the United States Census contributed 1,350 of these jobs. The average government wage increased by 4.3 percent to $34,910. The average private industry wage increased by 9.4 percent to $37,554. The primary force behind the increase in Government employment is an increasing populations’ demand for all levels of Educational Services.
