Within Durable Goods, Electrical Goods (506) showed the largest increase up 327 employees due to gains in Electronic Parts & Equipment Not Elsewhere Classified (5065). Electronic Parts & Equipment NEC contains businesses engaged in the wholesale distribution of items such as communication and intercommunications equipment. Corporate relocations to Colorado continued this quarter causing part of the increase of 318 employees in Lumber & Other Construction Materials (503). Professional & Commercial Equipment & Supplies (504), driven by growth in Computers & Peripheral Equipment & Software (5045), expanded by 232 employees.
Nondurable Goods (51) grew by 441 employees over last quarter. Better than half of the growth occurred in Groceries & Related Products (514) up 284 employees. Increases were due in part to seasonal activity in Fresh Fruits & Vegetables (5148).

Wholesale Trade grew 3.2% over a year ago adding 3079 employees. The Durable Goods component of the industry added 1634 employees. Continued expansions in Lumber & Other Construction Materials (503) caused a gain of 730 employees. Electrical Goods (506) added 666 employees due to sales expansions centered in Electronic Parts & Equipment Not Elsewhere Classified (5065). Hardware, Plumbing & Heating Equipment & Supplies (507) added 314 over the year.
Nondurable Goods (51) gained 1445 employees. Steady and consistent yearlong expansions in Drug, Drug Proprietaries & Druggists Sundries (512) up 402 showed the largest gain. Groceries & Related Products (514) incurred the second largest gain up 290 employees. Some businesses involved in marketing and distribution of fruits, vegetables, coffee and beverages reported increases over a year ago. Misc Nondurable Goods (519) added 243 employees. Growth was strongest in Books, Periodicals & Newspapers (5192).
