QUARTERLY

Agriculture employment dropped 20.7% losing 6232 employees. Sizable decreases are typical due to the cessation of growing in the late fall and early winter months. All sectors registered employment declines. The largest decline occurred in Agriculture Services (07) down 4097 employees. The lack of demand for lawn and garden care (078) and Farm Labor & Management Services (076) created the decline. Agri Prod-Crops (01) dropped 2051 employees due to seasonal declines in all subsectors. Vegetables & Melons (016), Horticulture Specialties (018) and Field Crops Except Cash Grains (013) exhibited the greatest seasonal decreases. Agri Prod-Livestock (02) dropped 57 employees.
