CENSUS OF THE POPULATION. Survey of the U.S. population are conducted in April of every year ending in "0" (ex., 1980 1990) by the U.S. Government. Data is published for two major areas: general population characteristics (age, ethnicity, marital status, etc) and general social and economic characteristics (education, income, industry/occupation of employed persons, etc). Geographic breakdowns vary by type of data. Charge varies according to report(s) desired.

CURRENT POPULATION REPORTS, SERIES P-70. This series and the associated data files feature data on the economic status of households and its relationship to social characteristics and to benefits received. ECONOMIC CENSUS. Provides a detailed portrait of the Nation's economy from the National to the local level. Published every 5 years. Price varies with desired report.

MINORITY & WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES, 1997. Provides basic economic data on businesses owned by specific minority groups in the United States. The minorities covered are Blacks; persons of Hispanic or Latin American ancestry; and persons of Asian, Pacific Islander, American Indian, Alaska Native, or other descent.

STATISTICAL ABSTRACT OF THE UNITED STATES, 2001. Presents extensive selection of statistics for the U.S., with selected data for regions, divisions, States, metropolitan area, cities, and foreign countries from reports and records of government and private agencies. The reference volume, issued annually, since 1878, is the government's most important statistical factbook on the social, political, and economic aspects of the American life. STATE AND METROPOLITAN AREA DATA BOOK, 2001. Features 1990 census population and land area for all areas covered; for the U.S., regions, divisions, and States, the report also features 1990 census race, Hispanic origin, household, and housing counts. Also, the tables summarize data from the economic censuses and continuing demographic and economic surveys. The report also includes data from other governmental and private agencies. Price varies.
